Summer Celebrations
It’s Celebration Season at Axis Sports Medicine! Summer is almost over, which makes us want to get outside in the beautiful Colorado sunshine and #kickaxis. There’s no better way to celebrate the success of our clients, friends and Axis family than with a hike! We have two big annual events in both Eagle and Summit Counties. We hope you can join us!
EAGLE County: 2nd Annual Axis Plunge
Saturday, September 8, 9am-1pm
The first event on September 8th, is in Eagle County: The 2nd Annual Axis Plunge! We will be hiking the Stone Creek to the Eagle-Vail trail. It’s a moderate trail, about 2.5 miles in length. We are going to meet at 8:45 at the Eagle Vail pool, and will provide a shuttle up to the trailhead and back, less than 5 minutes away.
Afterwards, we will be heading to the Eagle Vail Swimming Pool for an included lunch. Bring your swimsuit for some splashing in the lap pool, or the beach-entry recreation pool.

SUMMIT County: 3rd Annual Axis Ascent
Saturday, September 15, 8:30am-2pm
Meanwhile in Summit County, the 3rd Annual Axis Ascent, on September 15th, is at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area. We will be hiking from the base area, 1.8 miles to the mid-mountain Black Mountain Lodge. It’s a moderate hike with only 750 ft of elevation gain, but it’s worth every step for the beautiful colors and stunning views. For an even greater challenge, head up the road at mid-mountain to conquer the summit for a total 2,270 ft grind. Of course, the work is worth it, for fantastic views of Grizzly Peak, Loveland Pass, and the Continental Divide!
The group planning to conquer the summit will meet at 8:30 am at the base area. The second group headed to mid mountain will meet at 10:30 am.
Both groups will meet at Black Mountain Lodge to relax, take in the view, and enjoy an included lunch before returning to the base area.
