If you’ve ever watched 100 mountain bikers lined up at Arapahoe Basin, it’s pretty likely that something special is about to happen. And if you notice that the group at the Basin is a bit more diverse than the stereotypical “biker” crowd, you know VNTRbirds is on the slopes!
The recent VNTRbirds Rip Roaring Mini Enduro proved once again why it’s become one of the top events in our mountain biking community, and our team at Axis Sports Medicine is proud to continue supporting our incredible athletes.
This year’s event was as exciting as ever. There were first-time racers taking on their debut enduro course as well as seasoned riders we’ve worked with before – and everyone brought their best.
Every time we work with VNTRbirds, we’re blown away by the camaraderie and support we see at events. It’s what VNTRbirds does best: creating spaces where outdoor adventure meets genuine community support.
Supporting Women in Mountain Sports
As physical therapists and athletic trainers in the High Country, we see firsthand how programs like VNTRbirds transform lives. And our partnership with VNTRbirds aligns well with Axis’s mission to support athletes at every level.
The coaches and volunteers at VNTRbirds are doing more than just teaching technical skills for the mountain. They’re actively building confidence in younger and newer riders, and creating mentorship opportunities where everyone can thrive in their community.
The Mini Enduro is just one of many examples of VNTRbirds in action. Riders could choose between categories that fit their skill and comfort level – whether it was “Spicy,” “Sporty,” or “Leisurely”. And no matter their choice, the collective vibe was unmistakably strong and seriously fun.
What’s Ahead for VNTRbirds?
Whether you’re a long-time supporter or want to join up, there’s a spot for you with VNTRbirds! We may be moving toward the end of summer, but the year is young when it comes to events – and we’re proud to be there to support the upcoming VNTRbird calendar:
- Mid-week MTB Skills Clinic in Breckenridge – Perfect for working on technical skills without the weekend crowds
- 2-Day Clinic in Crested Butte – An immersive weekend diving deep into mountain biking progression
- 1-Day MTB Clinic in Buena Vista – Ideal for riders looking to explore new terrain while building confidence
- The Skills Party at Roamfest in September – The ultimate season-ender, combining skills development with festival vibes
You’ll also want to mark your calendars for the VENTURE OUT Femme Backcountry Festival returning in March 2026. Their Rider to Racer 2026 program is already accepting deposits for those ready to transform their riding journey.
Here at Axis Sports Medicine, we’ll continue supporting these athletes every pedal stroke of the way. Our team is supporting VNTRbird’s mission and keeping their athletes healthy and on the mountain – from injury prevention education to performance optimization and more..
Here’s to all the riders who showed up with courage and joy at the event. We can’t wait to see you on the trails – and in our clinics, where we’ll be keeping you healthy for many adventures to come!
