RED GERARD

Red Gerard is a professional snowboarder originally from Ohio who became a household name at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. At just 17, he became the youngest winter Olympian to win a gold medal since 1928, and the youngest American snowboarder in history to reach the top of the podium.

Red has been on a board since the age of 2. Recognizing his rare talent early on, his family moved to Silverthorne, Colorado, in 2007 to support his dreams. By 2016, Red had joined the pro circuit, and he has since become one of the most consistent and creative riders in the world.

Recent Career Highlights (2020–2025)

While he remains the 2018 Olympic Slopestyle Gold Medalist, Red’s trophy case has grown significantly in recent years:

• X Games Dominance: After winning bronze in 2020, Red achieved a career milestone by winning back-to-back X Games Gold Medals in Slopestyle in 2024 and 2025.

• Dew Tour Success: Red is a two-time Dew Tour Slopestyle Champion, with consecutive gold medal wins at Copper Mountain in 2020 and 2021.

• 2026 Winter Olympics: As of April 2025, Red has officially qualified for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan-Cortina. He finished the 2024–25 season ranked #2 in the world for Slopestyle.

• Evolving Style: In addition to his competition success, Red has become a major figure in backcountry filming, starring in acclaimed projects like Short & Sweet (2024), directed by his brother Malachi.

We love having a local Silverthorne kid on the world stage! Whether he is stomping a perfect run in Aspen or filming in the backcountry, we cannot wait to watch Red continue to lead the next generation of snowboarding. We are honored to have him as a veteran member of the #AxisAmbassador team.
