KRISTIN SCHWARCK

PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Originally from North Dakota, Kristin has been a physical therapist in Breckenridge since 2003. She received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy and Doctor of Physical Therapy from Andrews University.

Kristin is board certified in Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association. She is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling, Pilates, and Kinesiotaping. She is passionate about helping her patients return to the activities they love. Her free time is spent riding and racing mountain bikes, skiing, and traveling.

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Originally from New Hampshire, Kim graduated from Bucknell University with a degree in Elementary Education. In 1992 she moved to Breckenridge to teach adaptive skiing for the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center. Her experiences there sparked an interest in physical therapy. After graduating in 2001 from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver with a Master’s in Physical Therapy, she returned to Breckenridge to focus on treating outpatient orthopedic patients.

Kim is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist and is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling. She works with a variety of patients and strives to return each one to their prior activities. When she’s not with patients, Kim can be found running and biking the trails of Summit County in summer and skiing, skate skiing, and skinning uphill in winter.

BARBARA THOMAS

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Barbara Thomas moved to Colorado from San Marcos, CA. She attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and finished her internship hours for her Athletic Training Certification in California with the Palomar Comets athletic teams. Afterwards, she earned her Master in Physical Therapy at Western University of Health Sciences.

After graduating in 2002 she returned to work in a private clinic in Boulder, Colorado focusing on sports medicine, and in 2004 as a physical therapist in the Vail Valley. She has been in Breckenridge since 2007, and is a Certified Specialist in Orthopedics and Pilates Equipment.

Barbara believes athletes can be any age or ability, and she enjoys working to create and achieve physical therapy goals with her patients. In the winter, she loves snowboarding and skinning with her new split board. Her summers are filled with rowing on Lake Dillon, biking and volleyball.

After much thought and evaluation by our team, we have decided to consolidate our Edwards clinic into our Avon clinic location. 

Our staff and resources from our Edwards location will be moved into our Avon clinic on October 31, 2023.

We are excited to be able to offer a wider option of appointment times to accommodate patient needs in one location.
