PT, DPT + Clinic Director – Frisco 

Dr. Emily Duncanson serves as the Frisco Clinic Director at Axis Sports Medicine and has been a valued member of the team since 2019. Originally from Wisconsin, Emily earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where
she competed on the university’s alpine ski racing team. She went on to receive her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota.

Having spent several winters teaching skiing in Breckenridge before attending graduate school, Emily developed a deep connection to Colorado’s mountain communities. Returning to Summit County as a physical therapist allowed her to combine her passion for an
active lifestyle with her commitment to helping others recover, perform, and thrive.

Emily is a Certified Concussion Management Specialist and holds Level 1 and Level 2 certifications in Trigger Point Dry Needling. She is currently pursuing certification as a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT). Her treatment approach integrates evidence-based
techniques including manual therapy, dry needling, cupping, and Pilates-based rehabilitation to create individualized treatment plans for each patient.

Emily enjoys working with patients of all ages and activity levels, treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions and sports-related injuries. Her background as an athlete and outdoor enthusiast gives her unique insight into the demands of active lifestyles
and the importance of returning patients to the activities they love.

Outside the clinic, Emily embraces Colorado’s mountain lifestyle through downhill skiing, cycling, mountain biking, and hiking.
